Window Eight

The ministries of two sisters, Mary and Martha, differed from each other. It's exciting to learn that Jesus accepted both. One of the sisters was inclined to prayer, the other to waiting table. Both are needed in our world. Search this window's symbols and discover the various gifts represented, and notice how all of them serve the one and same Lord. God needs those who can pray by the hour, and He needs those who can provide soup for the hungry. The person gifted in PRAYER will also do works of mercy; and the person who does many THINGS as a servant of the Lord, will often say PRAYERS. God's Gifts to us have their own balance.
This window was given by the men of this church to honor the women who had both worked and prayed during several years of great financial stress. The women offered their prayers faithfully; and they also served tables, meals to raise a few dollars to pay the light bills!
This window, as a gift from the men, reflects the presence of new men in the congregation who are grateful for the women who kept the bills paid during struggling years.
