The stained glass windows at All Saints' Episcopal Church represent a theme of "The Love of God Expressed". To view the windows click here.

A Rose Window is always in the form of a wheel. Its circle bespeaks Eternity, also that God is One. The mullions (spokes) radiate from the hub outwardly like petals of a rose. The hub represents the ground in which live the roots of the bush.

The Rose Window can also be called a Christ Window. The reasons are found in the Old Testament, especially in Isaiah Chapter 35 and in The Song of Solomon Chapter 2. Those passages express Hope and Expectation in the Coming Messiah, and in these passages He is likened to a Rose. Hence, the Poetic "Jesus, Rose of Sharon."

Earth colors are basic to a Rose Window's hub. From there, as the petals reach out, the colors reflect growth by using green shades; and other colors appropriate to growth and life which reaches out.

In this window, the hub is not only a root, but also it's the Canterbury Cross, the root through which The Episcopal Church reaches back to its apostolicity. This window contains Palms and Grapes and Wheat, all symbols of the Christ. The designer of this window has designated it a "Complementary Rose Window." You'll notice that it picks up the lines of this church building and also the lines and colors of the twelve nave windows. It thus complements the nave and all of the building's form. In so doing, it gathers and thus focuses the Beauty of Christ in Expressing the Love of God in Word, in Sacrament, and in Deed. Its mood is THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS.
